ARTSOME Exhibition

Solo show by Ruwan Prasanna opens on August 15 at SASKIA FERNANDO GALLERY, Galle Fort, Sri Lanka

Ruwan Prasanna, Landscape XIII, 2014, acrylic on canvas, 153 x 153cm

A selection of new works by Ruwan Prasanna will be on display at SASKIA FERNANDO GALLERY in the Galle Fort for a month, starting from the 15th of August 2014.

Ruwan Prasanna is a determined emerging talent who has come a long way since exhibiting in the 2004 Kala Pola. Prasanna completed one year of his fine arts degree at the University of Visual and Performing Arts only to divert to the advertising industry where he continues to work to-date. In 2010 Ruwan Prasanna held his first solo show at Paradise Road Galleries; the show was a sell-out.

This series features landscape acrylic paintings. This series presented is evolutionary for Prasanna, who worked consistently for three years on a body of work based on the Untitled Bird. Moving into brighter colour palettes and larger canvases featuring shorter brush strokes, Prasanna has chosen landscapes as the inspiration behind his more recent works
